The incident happened on Monday, August 3, 2020, after students in Ghana started the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE). They wrote Integrated Science Paper 1 and 2 i.e., Theory and Objectives in the morning. It was after the morning session that students complained of invigilators being strict on them thereby causing this mayhem in the school.

Before the start of the 2020 WASSCE, there were a lot of questions in the public domain purported to have been leaked from WAEC but completely different sets of questions were administered to students by the examination body on the day of writing. This caused a lot of students to find it difficult to write the paper so they expected some favours from the invigilators which failed thereby destroying the school’s properties.
