Premature ejaculation has been a major problem facing men in their relationships and marriages in Ghana and around the world. It has been the cause of most marital infidelities, divorce, and cheating.
This article is going to focus on premature ejaculation causes, its treatment, and its cure.
A consultant urologist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Matthew Yamoah Kyei has stated that during sexual intercourse, men that are able to cross the 6-minute premature ejaculation time frame mark are considered to be normal.
He disclosed this on Joy FM’s Home Affairs programme hosted by Edem Knight-Tay. Some listeners called to share their ordeal and Dr. Kyei took turns to explain the possible causes of their problems.
Dr. Kyei indicated that premature ejaculation could be a mixture of stress, lack of exercise, or fluid without proper diagnosis. On the other hand, it could be hormonal and perhaps even a lifestyle – smoking, or too much alcohol. Pre-mature ejaculation can also be caused by factors like problems within the relationship, depression or anxiety, feeling anxious about rejection by a sexual partner, negative sexual experiences in childhood among others.
The doctor generally advised men to wear white or plain coloured boxers and to eat red veggies, tomatoes, carrots, etc.
Common treatment options for premature ejaculation include behavioral techniques, topical anesthetics, medications, and counseling. Keep in mind that it might take time to find the treatment or combination of treatments that will work for you. Behavioral treatment plus drug therapy might be the most effective course.
